Pioneer Woman Premier

I take 100% credit for introducing Michelle to the Pioneer Woman, so when we found out The Food Network was giving her a show, we planned on watching the premier together. Do to scheduling (on my end) we had to record it and watch it a day late. We had Pioneer Woman cinnamon rolls, an egg scramble, and blueberries for brunch before watching... yum.

Mady was crazy over the blueberries, like climb on the table, eat off of everyone else plate, crazy over the blueberries!

80's Party

At last year's school auction we purchased two shares to an 80's party - not really knowing what to expect. We did our best to dress the part! I teased my hair for about an hour, which Annabelle thought was the STRANGEST thing she had ever seen, to get it that "big." And Annabelle snapped some pictures! She was cracking us up. And then we headed over to the party which was hosted at a neighborhood bar! EVERYONE dressed the part, which was a blast... roller skates, legging, neon clothing galore, bandannas, blue eye shadow was definitely sold out in a 5 mile radius, parachute pants, and one of the mom's even dressed as Mary Lou Retton, so fun!! Everyone danced & cut loose to 80's music.... I am quite certain while I was growing up my parents never had this much fun at any party with my classmates parents!!

BUSY even when she sleeps...

Before bed, Madelyn will generally only allow me to snuggle her in the rocking chair, for about 60 seconds before she wants to be left alone to fall asleep in her crib. I am grateful that she goes down so easy, but some times I wish she desired a cuddle.

Well today Madelyn's internal clock woke her up at 2:42, because during the week that is when they pack up to pick up big sister from school. Alas it is Saturday, and big sister was still asleep, so I thought if I grabbed Madelyn from her crib while she was still half asleep and cuddled with her she might be able to get another hour of shut eye. We laid down, and I snuggled (aka held her down while she literally wrestled with falling back into a deep sleep.) She certainly wasn't awake, but her legs were running, her arms were thrashing around, her eyelids were fluttering, and her month was chomping on her binkie... it was craziness! Our girl is just simply B.U.S.Y.

Baking with the girls?

Here is Annabelle making Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls for our brunch / Pioneer Woman Premier tomorrow...while Annabelle knows her way around the kitchen and is even big enough to pour liquids...

Madelyn is still trying to figure out how to participate....

Ugh.

Annabelle & Kenzy at Dance Class

Going into the Friday night sleepover, Scott & I were extremely noncommittal about Saturday morning dance class, given our expectations for little sleep. But after a great night sleep for everyone, and confirmation that Kenzy could join Annabelle's class, we headed off to the studio.

I love how intently Annabelle is listening to Miss Robin.

Sleepover!!!!

Annabelle had her first sleepover!! Kenzy came to stay with us for a night, so her parents could enjoy the benefits of being in the hospitality industry - a free staycation. I prepared myself for crazy silly girls, and no sleep. They were definitely silly, but before bed I was able to scare Annabelle enough, that from the moment I shut the door we didn't hear a peep out of them until 7am! Not one peep - seriously. It was almost to easy...Kenzy you are welcome back anytime!!

Before bedtime the girls got to watch Tangled, each with individual bowls of popcorn.

Some things about Madelyn...

Madelyn has 7 teeth - 6 on top, and 1 on the bottom!

Madelyn is the first to grab her shoes if we say "it's time to go!"

If Madelyn is our refrigerator door police. If the door is left open for even a second and she is in the vicinity, she will toddle over to close it.

Madelyn blows on her own food now, often time even the cold stuff.

Madelyn is starting to really enjoy {board} books, which is exciting.

As soon as the bath water is turned on, Madelyn is at the tub trying to wing her leg over the side! Who cares that she is still fully dressed. At some point soon she is going to jump in before I can stop her.

Madelyn loves dogs in all sizes, but when we get right up close to them she rarely pets them, just smiles & giggles.

Madelyn points to the sky whenever she hears an airplane.

Madelyn has sandal tan lines from a great summer!

Madelyn runs more than she walks now.

Madelyn only has a few words - Mama, Dada, daa (dog), Anna, nana (banana), and all done - yet is amazingly effective at getting what she wants.

Our first Rockies Game of the Season!

Well we are squeezing in every last minute of summer fun with playdates, back-to-school events & at last a Rockies game! Somehow it is late in August and we haven't been to a game all summer. Well here we are with hotdogs in hand!
The girls actually watched the game for at least a brief moment!
We played on the concourse...
and then had a little milk, all so we could stall long enough to make it to...
the 7th inning stretch!

Back-to-School Event: Preschool Lemonade

This is the meet the teacher / see the classroom event, in case you were getting confused! Annabelle was super excited to check out all the dress up clothes, and couldn't be bothered with standing still, so this was the best picture I was able to get! Of course she said hello to her new teacher...but then she was off to play.Madelyn also loved Annabelle's new classroom! I had to physically remove her when it was time to head to the playground for lemonade. She would gladly fill in any day they are short on kiddos!
Scott & I got a chance to make introduction with Annabelle's new teacher, and we also met a lot of the new parents. It is going to be another great year!

Back-to-School Event: Ice Cream Social

Back to School is a BIG affair at Annabelle's School! The Ice Cream Social is just one of the many events put on my the Parent Association. Popsicles & Drumsticks for everyone, and time to play with all your classmates on the playground. Annabelle, being the socialite that she is, was super excited to see her friends!
