BLAKEY did it!

Madelyn got a boo boo at school today. There was an indecent report and everything. Given that Cassie ended up in an ambulance with one of her children today (btw, Vivi is okay,) I had perspective that a scratch on the nose was no big deal.

The report read that "a child (they can't tell you who!) in class had closed a bin down and Mady's nose was unfortunately in the way!"

No biggie. We carried on with our evening...picked up Annabelle, drove home, made dinner, ate dinner, and the girls got in the tub for a bath. That is when Annabelle took notice of Mady's boo boo....

A: Mady what happened? (in a very concerned voice)
M: BLAKEY did it!!!!!!!!!!!! (pointing to her nose)

I died laughing! Blake is one of the few kids that I actually know in the class, one because they are 2 weeks apart in age and therefore have been in the same room together since they were babies and two because Sue works with Blake's dad. It was hilarious.

I am constantly shocked by how vocal Mady is becoming each and every day. I didn't even think to ask her for an account of what happened. But when I retold the story to the teachers, they grinned and shrugged, so Blakey did do it.

SOLD!

I have had complete writer's block when it comes to this post! I have tried to write it multiple times with no luck. So I am going to keep this short & sweet!

AFTER ALMOST TWO YEARS ON THE MARKET, WE CLOSED OUR HOUSE!

It is no longer ours, which is so strange.

On one hand we are SUPER excited to move on with our dreams for the new house.

Yet, we are SAD to leave the house where we started our family.
(this was taken with my broken camera, sorry for the horrible lighting, this is the best I could do to fix it)

While we celebrated tonight Outback style, it doesn't seem real yet (we move next week.) I am grateful the new owners are thrilled - she is the editor of our neighborhood paper, and she wrote me an email like only an editor could, gushing about the house. They truly love it, and I am grateful it is in good hands.

Swim Lessons - Diving Board Edition

Annabelle graduated to the next level at swim lessons. And she knew from watching the other classes that meant jumping off the diving board. The night before the first class (last weekend) she was extremely nervous about the diving board, and we had a 20 minute conversation before bed discussing it. When we got to class the next morning, and they didn't end up swimming down to the deep end to jump, which for Annabelle was perfect! It was a huge confidence builder that she made it through the class without struggling. She did notice that most of the kids in this class had goggles, so we went home and immediately placed our order for some hot pink goggles on Amazon!!!

This week with goggles on, Annabelle took off swimming!!!! She SWAM (four strokes) on her own, dunked her whole face & head in the water unlike ever before, was pushing off correctly from the wall and EVEN went right up an jumped off the diving board!!! I was so glad Scott & I were both there to cheer her on! We couldn't have been more proud! And I am shocked the difference in her ability in just two weeks. (Even the instructor commented that she was really doing amazing in this class!)

And here are the videos....

Aquarium + Qdoba

We dropped Daddy off downtown for a Nuggets game, and since we were already downtown (and I had a Groupon) I thought we would check out the Aquarium. Now the Denver Aquarium is nothing special in my opinion, it's over priced (without a Groupon) and is only good for about 30 -45 minutes of entertainment. But I have to say the girls really enjoyed it. Once we got through the flash flood portion at the very beginning, which totally freaked them both out, it was on to all the good stuff.... brightly colored fish, sharks, starfish, sting rays, sea horses, jelly fish, Nemo & Dori fishes, and the highlight a huge turtle!!! We sat and chatted with the turtle for quite some time! Mady especially LOVED the turtle.

Cell Phone Pictures...
On our way home, we grabbed dinner at Qdoba. Mady calls a quesadilla, a "dia"... here is a little video... sorry it starts out upside down...new cell phone (user error.)

Potty Time

Mady moved up classrooms at school a few weeks ago, and that means potty training during the week, and we will absolutely enforce that training at home!
Last night I texted...

We are eating CHOCOLATE at 8pm, why you ask....? Well Mady told me she had to go potty, and then she actually went on the potty!!!!! So we are celebrating with some M&Ms!! :)

....bring on the M&Ms! (and wish us luck!)

First LIKs of the SEASON!!

Daddy has been in Vegas on a guys drip since Wednesday watching the March Madness basketball tournament. So we have been having fun girly time - Wednesday night we hung out at home having a movie night with popcorn, Thursday night we had a play date with Annabelle's friend Leah, then tonight after making it through the work week, I though ice cream for dinner sounded about right (especially given the amazing weather we have been having!) Cassie apparently had the same idea, because later we figured out that we missed running into them by about 30 minutes. (It is not uncommon for us to run into each other at Liks in the summer!)
(Cell Phone Picture)

Well the girls apparently don't think ice cream is appropriate for dinner, because when we got home they asked for Mac & Cheese!! Sheesh! My insistence they eat healthy food sure backfired on me this time!

Purim

Unfortunately Mady still wasn't feeling well, so she didn't get to join us in the festivities this year...but Annabelle got dressed up like a cowgirl (thanks to Leah for letting Annabelle borrow her pink cowgirl boots,) and we headed over to the Purim carnival. The kids LOVE this event - dress up, arts & crafts, carnival games with prizes & a train! What more could you ask for?

Our cowgirl!
Annabelle immediately put her big sister skills to work with Vivi!
Annabelle loves any opportunity for art!! Decorating a crown - perfect!!!
(side note: this is right about when my camera officially stopped working!!!! NO!!!!)
Cassie grabbed this adorable shot of the 3 kiddos! And I love that Stacy is photo bombing in the background!
Watching the balloon man make Avery's bow & arrow
And last but certainly not least... the TRAIN!

sickie mady

Now if someone showed me this picture...I would assume that Mady fell asleep and Annabelle came along and tucked in baby dolls next to her. Well, Mady was home sick today, and she wanted wanted to watch a "show" with some of her baby doll friends. Next thing I knew she had tucked in her babies, and then promptly fell asleep. So sweet...

Mind Made Up!

A: (holding out two pairs of shoes) Mommy which shoes should I wear today?
C: The purple ones!
(It was clear the second the words came out of my mouth it was the wrong choice!)
C: Oh, no, I meant the black ones!
A: Yeah! Because they look like tap shoes, and they go with my pretty dress, and I want to look pretty...(and on and on and on...)
C: Why did you ask me if you had your mind made up?
(cringing as the words came out of my mouth, because Scott says this to me all the time!)

Must be a girl thing!!!

the Park

While Uncle Jon & Trish were hanging out with us in Denver, the weather was gorgeous, so we took the opportunity to head to the park! Annabelle is focused on figuring out the monkey bars, so with the help of Uncle Jon, she practiced, practiced, practiced (which by the way doesn't make for interesting pictures - skirt hiked up and all.)
Mady made Daddy's day when she wanted to play basketball (even if it was with a soccer ball!) It was so cute, she was determined to try to get the ball in the hoop!!!

Uncle Jon Visits

We took him & Trish to Golden for the elite eight basketball game!
