Memorial Day 2011

We had our summer kickoff at the Wasserman house... everyone had a blast, but I didn't get many pictures because I wasn't actually at the party for very long... I was to busy cruising around the neighborhood in Erica's new mini cooper! But all reports were that my girls had a fabulous time.

Preschool Class Project 2010 - 2011

Mrs Bev's class project

Molly (Ian's Mom) & I got in a bit of a bidding war over this at the auction, but I could tell she wasn't going to back down. I feel good about driving the price up for a good cause! Sorry Molly! And even after all that, she was nice enough to bring the bench back into class so I could get a picture! Thanks Molly!

Annabelle's class took a field trip to the Urban Farm. Scott brilliantly suggested I take the morning off to join him, Mady & the class! Thank you honey...I would have hated missing this field trip.

giraffes, elephants, zebras...oh my!

We had a whole weekend with no real plans, so Sunday we headed down south to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The girls had a BLAST. And we are now officially members, so future visits to come!

This will be mostly pictures as I took...gasp....675!

25 cents of each admission ticket goes to animal conservation, so right when you walk in, you pick an animal to receive your donation, put the quarter in the respective slot, and then watch it roll...Annabelle picked all four of our animals, but Madelyn was..not surprisingly...right in the action.

Then we headed to the giraffes...
Annabelle posed for this without me even asking her too!
Daddy quickly got crackers...
and Annabelle even mustered up the courage to feed a couple of giraffes!!
of course she wouldn't wait until I was camera ready to muster that courage!
But she was certainly proud of herself
Daddy tried to help Mady feed a giraffe,
but she wasn't going to let go of her cracker!
Next we headed to the lions...
see Mady's best lion roar!
Next up...Mady & Daddy were in the monkey house,
and Annabelle had a true princess moment, and couldn't take the smell.
So we found a spot outside for a picture.
Have I mentioned how hard it is to get a natural smile out of a 3 1/2 year old?
Then the girls road the carousel (a fist for Mady!)
elephants with a view
In the bird house
Annabelle literally danced, twirled, and ran all the way up up this walkway...
it was hard to pick a picture from this series,
until I saw this one...it is so Annabelle!
our tigers...Mady was standing on her own!
this little chipmunk might have been the highlight for Mady,
she was totally intrigued...
where should we go next?

Artist at Work!

Well by any normal standards we purchased a Jumbo box of chalk today that would last the average family the entire summer... except that we will be lucky if this box last us a month, as we have a budding Artist at our house! Annabelle l.o.v.e.s. chalk, and I was excited to introduce Madelyn to chalk for the first time.

Well...as with most things...for Madelyn it only lasted a few minutes...

And she was crawling away with the chalk!

Annabelle on the other hand... spent an hour creating her masterpiece...
creating & creating
practicing staying in the lines...
and practicing her performing arts as well...

dancing, singing...and creating.. love it
when the weather is warm,
our front sidewalk becomes an extension of our home,
which is marvelous if you ask me

funny side story that I can't help but put on the blog... every time she would squat (like in the picture above,) she would step on the back of her skirt, and then stand up and her skirt would be at her ankles! And then she would say "aye, aye, aye!" as she was pulling it up! I tried to get a picture, but I was honestly laughing to hard, and none of them turned out!
