BIG GIRL BIKE!

Scott & I have been talking about getting Annabelle a real bike for a while now, it was very clear, that this summer she would be cruising around on two (or maybe four wheels.) So last week, I finally ordered her a bike. It arrived today, and Scott was able to put it together before we got home. After dinner, we told Annabelle we had a surprise for her and I went out front with both girls so he could bring the bike around to the front yard. Good thing it is totally normal in our house for me to grab my camera!  As soon as the girls heard Scott coming around the side of the house, they took off! He couldn't even get to the front yard! HA. She was so excited! I think it is safe to say it was a huge hit!

Love that both girls are checking out the bike!
And she is off!
Headed back towards home, after her first lap around the block!
This is one happy girl!

Eavesdropping!

So tonight on the way home from work I called Scott to sort dinner & our evening. Annabelle was home with him, so she wanted to talk to me. We discussed a few moments from her day, and then she said "I want to talk to Mady!" This was a first, and it was simply precious... I handed the phone back to Mady, and then she & Annabelle exchanged "Hi Anna" & "Hi Mady" for about 5 minutes straight! Annabelle tried to ask Mady a few questions, also adorable, but she doesn't really know how to carry a phone conversation yet. It was a seriously precious moment...I am grateful for speakerphone so I could eavesdrop!!!

Dollar Shopping!

Grandma Suzie just got back from California, and she brought each of the girls back a little Disney purse with a $1 dollar bill inside. Grandma told the girls they could take the money & go shopping. Well, that money was BURNING a hole in Annabelle pocket, let.me.tell.you.  We made a plan for the day, inclusive of Scott taking the girls to the dollar section at Target so they could pick something out, and then they paid the cashier! Here they are - ready to go to Target!

a FOUR generations girls night!

Aunt Jerè is in town this week from Mississippi, and since Scott had to go to Centaurus Graduation tonight, we decided to have a Girls Night at our house! I made dinner for Aunt Jerè, Grandma Suzie, Gigi, Annabelle & Madelyn, and we had a fabulous time hanging out around the dinner table!!!

Annabelle didn't end up going to bed until 10:30!! (she certainly knows how to rally when there is a party going on!) But when I think about what a special evening it was for her....I am glad she is old enough to stay up! I mean how often does a 4 year old get to have tea & dessert with their mom, grandma, great-grandma & great aunt in the wee hours of the night? Pretty darn cool if you ask me.

Mother's Day 2012

Mom's day didn't turn out quite like any of us had hoped this year... I got the "bug" last Wednesday, and by this morning, Annabelle was feeling just plain yucky. She tried to rally through brunch with Scott's family, but really she simply didn't feel well and I was still in recovery mode. We got home and everyone took a long nap which was fabulous, and then mostly hung out cuddling the rest of the evening... here is this years Mom's Day picture (cuddling in bed.)

Thank you to my wonderful husband for the flowers!!

Goggles

To put Annabelle's goggles on for swimming, she hold them over her eyes, and I pull the straps over her head! EVERY SINGLE TIME, after they are secured on her head, she stares me down, and says "Can you see my eyes?" It is almost as if she thinks I have to be able to see her eyes, in order for her to see under water. I have no idea, but it is hilarious.
