We had Annabelle's 2 month doctors appointment on Monday. Dr. Taylor says Annabelle is doing great. All the things she would expect - sleeping at least 4.5 hours at a stretch in the evening (she is doing 5.5 -6 hours), holding her head up with less wobble, focusing her eyes, gaining weight, and growing taller! She is 11 lbs 10 oz & 22.5 inches long, which puts her in the 78 & 55 percentile respectively. She had to get 4 shots, and 1 oral vaccine which mom didn't enjoy but she did fairly well. She did get a slight fever that evening, but other than that she just slept most of the afternoon.
We are headed to Portland tomorrow night for a long weekend with the Grandparents and Annabelle will get a chance to meet a lot of family she hasn't met yet. We will update everyone on our first flight with a baby when we get back! Have a great weekend!

Annabelle is moving into her own room...
Since Annabelle has been sleeping 5 1/2 to 6 hours at a time and we had agreed that at 8 weeks should would move into her own room, this week we started the process of getting her moved.
Monday night was Annabelle's first night attempting to sleep in her own room. It was a rough night for all of us. We fed her at 11, and then I rocked her until shortly after midnight. She fussed for another 30 minutes and then slept for an hour, Scott soothed her back to sleep and then she was up again at 3:30 for an hour! Finally she slept from about 4:30 until 7:30am, before I gave up and let her join us in our room so we could all get a few more hours of sleep. I have to say it was a lot harder than I thought it would be to have her in her own room . But I think it will make me a much better person during the day, if I get more uninterrupted sleep.
Tues night was much better!! Scott started feeding her at 10pm and after 8 oz she was asleep by midnight. We all slept until 5:30, I fed her and then she didn't wake up again until after 8. WHOO HOO!!
We have high hopes for tonight! Wish us luck! :)

A few more pictures
This one is from NYE - all dressed up and no where to go! :)
No, No we went to dinner, but Annabelle didn't want to cooperate for a picture after dinner. This one might come back to haunt her later in life.

This is Tigger keeping an eye on her baby! She worries about the baby a lot!
Here is Annabelle and I snuggling - I love it when she snuggles! She is a cuddler at the moment, I hope she stays that way!

Talking & Smiling
Annabelle is doing great. We are just in love. It is so amazing... we are still getting to know all her little faces and sounds.
We have pursed lips - this is when she is done eating. She looks at us like we are crazy for trying to get her to eat any more.
We have the monkey face - which is pursed lips and you add turned up lower lip, and puffed out checks, usually we get this face after eating or after a big stretch.
She also (since about day 2) figured out when we stopped her from eating to burp that we needed to hear a sound before she could continue eating. So she gives us all kinds of grunting sounds trying to fake us out! :) It is really funny.
And just recently we are starting to get intentional smiles - last night we were all three in bed and Annabelle couldn't stop smiling at us. So cute... we haven't gotten an intentional smile on camera but trust me they are priceless.
We have also decided she is going to be extremely good at school. Annabelle raises her hand all the time and we just know she has a question, she just can't ask it yet but soon enough! :)
She is talking up a storm!! We love the baby babble. She is even talking in her sleep. I suppose she takes after her mother. I am told I baby babble in my sleep.
We haven't posted pictures in a while, I will download some tomorrow and get them posted.

Friends!
Annabelle got to meet two more friends who were born just a few weeks after her! I got together with Sarah & Julian Levin and Tamiko & Ellis Thomas. I work with Sarah and Tamiko and we got to share pregnancy experiences as well as now we get to hang out with the babies on maternity leave. So Fun!
Julian was born on December 20th (poor little guys squished between the little ladies!) And Ellis was born on November 27th.
How cute are all three of these babies!?!?!?!

First Post of 2008!
New Year's was rather tame around here this year (next year we will have to bring back the white trash NYE party!). We went to an early dinner at Cherry Tomato (our neighborhood Italian restaurant) and we were home by 8pm!! We were in bed before midnight! Oh how life has changed.

Annabelle is doing great - she is six & a half weeks old and just in the last few days she is eating more and sleeping better (i.e. longer!) We seem to be getting 4-6 hours between feedings at night which is great! She also found her thumb on New Years Day! And she is starting to smile more and more - it might even be intentional at times!
Happy 2008 Everyone!!
Here are a couple more of my favorite pictures from the last couple weeks....
This is from right before the Waitz family Christmas party - how sweet is this picture!

This is her one month picture! At dinner at Outback with her Grandmas'
Happy 2008 Everyone!!
