A Party Picture

Annabelle's good friend from school had a birthday party today. Out of respect for the privacy for the family who is part of the Denver media, I am not going to post any pictures of the kids. This mother might be the only other person I know (besides myself, oh and my dad) who doesn't have a Facebook page!

But I have fallen in love with this accidental shot of Annabelle from the party. Annabelle was standing right in the sun, while a couple of the girls were playing catch in the back yard. Suffice to say...Annabelle is not great at catch! If you look closely you can see why...the ball was about to hit her in the head, and she is holding her hands...not exactly how you play a successful game of catch! But that smile...ah, that smile...and can you just hear the laughter? man I love this girl.

Last Day

Today was Madelyn's last day at Primrose. We are so thankful for the wonderful teachers who took such amazing care of our little girl. For the last month or so, Madelyn was the only girl in her class of 6 kiddos. But according to some reliable sources, our sweet little Madelyn ran the room. Apparently nobody got their bottle until after Madelyn got her bottle (does that sound a little like her big sister to anyone else?) She was the ring leader at nap time. I would swear that Madelyn takes a good nap at home, but then the teachers would laugh "Mady is always our last man standing!" And in true girl fashion she was constantly talking.

Madelyn & Mrs Sherry

Madelyn & Miss Kayla
Madelyn & Miss Amy
Madelyn could always get a little extra love from Ms Kathy. She got to spend most of her last day visiting Kathy's room. When I took the picture on the right, Madelyn had just slithered down from Cathy's lap, crawled over grabbed the nearest toy she could find, and then crawled back to give it to Cathy! The love is mutual.

Zoo

While Uncle Jon was visiting we decided to head to the Zoo! It was a chilly day and add the wind, and it was fairly frigid. We ended up mostly bouncing from one indoor exhibits to the next.

Annabelle loves the giraffes so we got to visit them twice!
Madelyn, just like Annabelle at this age, loved the fishes in Tropical Discovery. And watch out world... she is starting to practice walking!

Come visit again soon Uncle Jon!

Happy Valentine's Day!

it was an amazing 70 degrees (yesterday) in Denver
possibly my favorite picture of Madelyn E.V.E.R.
I can't believe how hard it is to get a "nice" picture of both my girls!
These look like outtakes but I think they are cute anyways!

Pioneer Woman Book Signing

I have never in my life been to a book signing... but when Pioneer Woman released Black Heels to Tractor Wheels, and then planned to come to Denver as a stop on her book tour, I marked my calendar months in advance.

when the day arrived, I got in line 2.5 hours early...
took many pictures in true pioneer woman fashion...
received my number in line...
found my seat in a crowded room...
when she arrived everyone in the room squealed like a school girl...
she graciously answered questions...
and then she signed about a million books...
