17 Week Appointment

So we were back in the doctor's office yesterday afternoon. Nothing much to report, I lost some blood (okay so they only took one vial) and we heard the heart beat (156 bpm). It was again rather uneventful, except that Dr. Jacobson had to run over to the hospital when we arrived, in order to due a delivery. It wasn't the patients first birth so it went quickly and we probably only had to wait an extra 15 minutes... I could only hope for such a quick birth!! Oh well, 23 more weeks to think about that....

On the bright side the count down to July 16th is in full swing. We did leave the doctors office and went straight to the mall to purchase some crib bedding, we are fairly confident it is boy - obviously. And the bedding I love is on clearence. And as Scott says my favorite past time is returning previous purchases, in the case that we are wrong, I will just have something to return. :) I will post pictures of the adorable bedding once we find out what the gender of the baby is... Perhaps the crib will make its way upstairs in the mean time so I can give the full effect in my pictures! Hint, hint...honey.

Is this for me??

Yes Tigger, you are still the baby for a little while longer....

Things have been uneventful on the baby front (which is good of course.) We have another doctor's appointment tomorrow and then only a couple more weeks until we get to find out the gender!! Very exciting! We both think it is a boy at the moment, but I think I will be surprised either way. If it is a boy - I will be surprised I was actually right, and if it is a girl - I will be shocked because I thought it was a boy this whole time! :) My belly is starting to grow! Scott took me to get some clothes on Friday night after our dance lesson which was awesome! Thanks honey! I finally have a handful of things to wear. Gap is great by the way. Also, Ann Taylor Loft just started a maternity line, however they only carry the line in a few test stores at the moment, so you have to order everything online. I ordered a dress for Miss Margaret's wedding at the end of July, and a couple cute shirts!

On Saturday morning I went around the neighborhood to yard sales with Rebecca. We didn't find much and most people were expecting way to much for their "treasures" but I did get three wooden puzzles that were wonderful, a couple mint condition Magic School Bus books for much later (but I love books!!), and the cutest pair of perfect condition Osh Kosh overall shorts for the baby next summer. 50 cents for the books and overalls, and $1 for the wooden puzzles - you can't beat that! I will have to continue going to yard sales the rest of the summer to see what else I can find. Scott keeps trying to put me on a baby buying ban, but as you can see it isn't really working. :)

Father's Day

Well since my Dad is in Portland and Scott's Dad works on the weekends, we didn't do anything formal for Father's Day, but we did celebrate (of course). We slept in (enjoying every bit of sleep right now!) and then Scott opened his gifts. I got him a Diaper Dude & we are shopping for a video camera so we can load tons of video of the little one once it arrives! Now... what is a Diaper Dude you ask...it is a diaper bag for dudes! Scott just had to have one, especially since he will probably be home with the baby at least a day or two during the week if all goes as planned.

After all the excitement of the gifts, we headed out to find breakfast since Scott loves to go out for breakfast on the weekends, only we headed out to late, and everywhere was PACKED (duhh!) So we ended up having lunch at the Wynkoop. Sorry honey, breakfast next weekend - I promise! Then we decided to start doing a little shopping for the video camera downtown since we had an hour or so to kill before the next activity. So we walked up 16th Street mall to a camera specialty store. We learned a few things and headed on our way. Not to talk weather, but did I mention Denver hit a record high of 97 degrees on Sunday! It was HOT walking around downtown. From the camera store we headed into a the Sports Column for Scott to have a beer, and to cool off before spending 3 hours sitting outside... can you guess what we did next....? Coors Field for a Rockies game! They have been playing super well, but Sunday wasn't their day! Luckily our seats were in the shade so it was actually quite comfortable to be outside and we really enjoyed the game as we always do. Although baseball is DEFINITELY not as much fun without a beer. We wrapped up Father's day watching some TV & having dinner at home, and then we grabbed an ice cream at Lik's!

It sounds like a baby!

We had another Dr appt on Friday morning. Scott went into the exam room while I got on the scale. He was looking at all the photo's of kids our doctor has delivered. I came into the room to announce that I had gained 3 lbs! Scott quickly blurted out that he has gained 7 lbs!!!! :) What can you do.... excited & nervous father already! While he was waiting he saw pictures of our friend Michelle's kids (Alex & Lucas) as well as photos of Vinny Castilla's family (former Colorado Rockie) which was very fun! Then we got to hear the heart beat again, the doctor said "sounds like a baby!" The heartbeat was 156 beats per minute. Down from our last visit, but the doctor assured us that was normal. Then we headed to the front desk to make our next two appointments. We will get to find out the gender of the baby on July 16th!! Mark your calendars! The receptionist asked us if we wanted a 9am appt or one late in the afternoon - 9am of course!!!

Last weekend we got some nursery furniture, and Scott put the hutch on the changing table this weekend. It really looks nice, and is starting to look like a nursery instead of a guest room. We just need to get the crib set up and move some of the old bedroom furniture (& my projects) out. I also got an awesome frame for the nursery at the Boulder Creek Fair over Memorial Day weekend. It is fun finding the perfect little things to get the nursery set up. I will take some pictures and get them posted soon.
