Zoo with Grandma

Annabelle took Grandma to the zoo. It was a bit chilly so we actually had to pull out a sweater. I love this picture, but she looks so big!! What happened to my baby girl?

After this post I though that Annabelle was all about the carousel. She had the same excited reaction when she saw it, but when it was time to get on she didn't want to go with just Grandma. So Mommy, Grandma & Annabelle all took a ride on the carousel. Annabelle stayed on the tiger for the entire ride, but she was extremely serious about the whole experience.
And just for fun, a picture of Marty the zebra!

Sweet and then a little bit of Sour

We started off the morning by heading to our farmer markets to get some local peaches. As far as fruit goes, I think Colorado peaches are AMAZING! And from the looks of it AnnaB agrees!

And then later in the day Daddy returned home with a ice tea with lemon. Annabelle has a thing for lemons (I sware this comes from her Uncle Dan.) She always wants Daddy's lemon from his tea, and then always makes a sour face. I never seem to quite capture the moment, but these turned out cute.
Sour face!
This one is a new favorite! What a cute girl!

Swimming at the Watsons

FYI - if you invite the Itens to come swimming and we don't have plans.... we are on our way!

It was a nice day out, however the heater was broken at the Watson's neighborhood pool, that combined with a little wind, it was a bit chilly for swimming, at least for the adults. The kids, well they don't ever seem to mind, chattering bottom lip & all.

Alec's Birthday

Our good friend Alec turned 6!!! All these kids are growing up way to fast! Well he had a huge baseball & bubble gum party at a wonderful park. We are late because Annabelle had to finish her nap. Given we were already late, when she woke up, I told her we had to hurry to get to Alec's party and that they would have birthday cake at the party. Well big mistake.... the party was about 25 minutes away and the whole way there we heard "cake" "mommy, cake" "cake."

Here is Alec - he was beaming the entire time (of course)
After all the talk about cake, I think the juice box might have actually been the highlight for AnnaB....
....that is right up until she found the slides!
This girl LOVE LOVE LOVES a good slide!

Dairy Queen with Grandpa

Dairy Queen had a Children's Hospital benefit night - now who am I to deny the local Children's Hospital during a fundraiser, it just happened to be a bonus, of course, that ice cream was involved. So we skipped dinner (don't tell anyone) and headed with Grandpa straight to Dairy Queen!
Annabelle had some of her ice cream, but then it was time to go run off the sugar!
Daddy is going to get you!

The weekend wrap up

Friday night we went over to hang out with the Turbows... I snapped a few pictures of the kids, but I am trying out a new lens and unfortunately it is much less forgiving, I can't move the camera & the kids can't be in motion (like they ever sit still) or they turn out blurry! A few really cute ones didn't turn out! :(

Here is Annabelle stuck in the Bumbo. Of course all four adults just stood around either snapping pictures or laughing rather than helping her out. Finally Annabelle just decided to sit and smile, but here she is still struggling to get out.
And this one pretty much sums up the evening. These two were the entertainment, they ran around the Turbow's house giggling the entire time! They have there own little chase, hide & laugh game - very cute.
Saturday I put Annabelle in her swimsuit to play in the sprinklers....I am sure from all the pictures in this suit you can guess that I love watching her toddle around in hot pink & ruffles.
And this one is just to funny not to include... Annabelle ran out of bubbles in her bottle so she was trying out Daddy's bottle to see if she could make some more bubbles!
Then Sunday we hit the park & of course got some ice cream....

This one is for you Cassie - blurry, focus, blurry - now if I could just do that again! :)

Tid bits

Annabelle doesn't really know her numbers (or how to count) but she has two things figured out about the number TWO. First it comes after one, and second it is more than one!

Mommy: Annabelle you can have one cookies.
Annabelle: Two?

Annabelle grabbed our home phone one night while Scott was cooking and I was peering through our mail, and she must have dialed zero as well as pushed the speaker phone button!

Operator: Hello, this is the Operator, can I help you?
Annabelle: Yes
Mommy: (chasing Annabelle down the hall) Annabelle come here, give me the phone
Operator: Can I help you?
Annabelle: (giggling in recognition this was funny) YES!
Mommy & Daddy also laughing at this point!

What can you do? Hilarious!

FIRST Haircut!

Okay I realize many of our little friends have had haircuts (some many), but Annabelle just finally needed one. Really it looks the same (post haircut) in the front but the rat-tail curl in the back had to be cut! Ahem.

My salon recently opened a kids salon right next door, and they are in our neighborhood so we made an appointment and headed over. It is ridiculously over priced for a kids haircut- so don't tell Annabelle's daddy - but they did a nice job of trying to keep her happy, capturing the moment with a framed picture (probably not necessary since I took about 100), and keeping some of her locks.

Here she is before the hair(s)cut with a lollipop (we have never given her a lollipop but someone certainly has, because she clearly knew what it was all about!)
Hey... that tickles!
A family event!
Finished just in time.... she was down to the stick!

Apex & Addison's Birthday

Saturday morning we were up early, and wanted to go swimming. Well the neighborhood pool didn't have free swim until 10am, and it was just a little after 8. So we headed to check out the Apex indoor water park. Super fun time was had by all, and I am certain we will go back. Even though there was an entire water park, multiple slides, a lazy river, family hot tubs, and a big pool Annabelle was mostly fascinated by the pop jets of water. Simple pleasures.
Scott was able to get her to go down the big water slide with him a couple times. She liked it but didn't like the water that shoots out midway down the slide. When then came out she was immediately pointing to her eye since she got some water in it! Can you see the slide behind her in this picture? This complex also has an amazing indoor playground called the Treehouse. We will have to check that out soon as well.
Then after a nap it was off to celebrate Addison's 1st Birthday. Annabelle had two slices of watermelon and hated it!! Can't you tell!
Would you look at those cheeks?!?!
And here is the birthday girl (and her brother) while we sang Happy Birthday.
