Cassie's Daycare

Cassie saved the day and took both our girls very last minute when we had a childcare situation. But not only did she take our girls, she somehow managed to get all four kids out of the house for an adventure! They walked to Starbucks & then hit the high school to run around! Oh, and she even sent me pictures throughout the day.

how cute are those toes?
Cassie - plan a date night, we have your childcare covered!

Another mode of transportation...

Now along with this...(my personal favorite!)
and this....
and this...

She is walking folks...

It is far from her primary mode of transportation, but we are certainly excited to see her walking!

And she has more and more words everyday...
Scott and I think her first word was actually Da for Dog!
She has been saying that every time she sees a dog, but for so long that was her only sound, we weren't sure. Well now that she is getting more words, it is CLEARLY dog!

Two new favorites are...
Anna for Annabelle (love it!) & all done
...she is definitely trying to mimic a lot more sounds!
I am certain that a word explosion is about to happen.

Random Annabelle stories...

A: Mommy, my baby is sleeping...

(following said in a whisper) you need to be quiet and talk like this...

(following said bellowing) NOT LIKE THIS. K MOMMY?

M: yep. got it.

-----------------------------------------------------

Runzel Punzel

-----------------------------------------------------

SAY IT MORE LOUDER

-----------------------------------------------------

Ordering something online is sort of an abstract concept for Annabelle. When I say I bought something she thinks it should be there instantly. Tonight we placed an order for our vegas shoes with zappos, I was explaining to annabelle, that we place a request for an item with an online store, and pay for the item. Then the store packages the item we bought in a box, & takes it to the post office (she knows what the post office is, I am saving the UPS/Fedex discussion for later!), and then when our postman gets the box, he will deliver it. She seemed to understand...

two hours pass, and it is time for bed... and I am getting Mady in her PJs.

A: Mommy, I like Mady's PJs. Could you get me some of those?
M: Well Grandma Dar Dar got those on sale {probably 2 years ago} so I am afraid not.
A: Well... just order it! k?

Ut-oh.

-----------------------------------------------------

Quote from the backseat...Abelle "talking" on her Princess Ariel toy cell phone..."You go see my castle, I will let down my hair...then I will call you back, k?" hangs up.

-----------------------------------------------------

C: Annabelle, do you want a hamburger meat taco or chicken taco?

A: Hamburger

(afterward I lifted her up to see the taco making process at Qdoba)

A: NO, I want it like Wendy's makes it!!!!

C: How does Wendy's make it?

A: With bread on the top, and bread on the bottom!!

At which point I realized how literal she took the word hamburger! Ugh. This lead to a hunger induced melt down!

Happy Father's Day

These two pictures are very special to me
and not only because they are on my list of absolute favorites of each girl,
but they capture a special moment
between both of my girls and their Papa!
(And as a bonus, their Daddy is behind them!)

our life...as found in scott's cell phone

(I am having MAJOR technical difficulties with the recital post...so that is coming soon... hopefully...ugh. but without further ado...)

I wanted one picture from Scott's cell phone but when I went to download... I found all these others... so I thought I would share!

mommy's shoes
the airport train
toes
asleep at lunch
berries
(apparently Mady can only be captured,
when fully restrained in her highchair!)

The Recital

It is hard to put into words the emotions that you feel as a parent watching your child perform! I literally ooze with pride at my girl up on that stage. I have no idea how she does it, just the thought make me want to throw up! And to top it off this particular stage happens to be at the June Swaner Gates Concert Hall, Newman Center, Denver University. I don't mention that because it is fancy...honestly I am just as proud when she is performing for our neighbors in our front yard, but this place is amazing. To paint a picture...this is a 1000 seat, 4 level opera house (I looked up the number of seats!) Annabelle obviously has no idea of the magnitude of what that means, I think she can only see a row or two into the audience, but it still shocks me that she can get up on a stage and perform with her whole heart & soul. Watch the videos and you will see what I mean! (if you get these posts via emails, you will need to head to the blog to watch, (June 12))

Annabelle, Mommy & Daddy couldn't be more proud of you today!

Twinkle

Never Smile at a Crocodile! (my personal favorite!)

My pictures were horrible, I literally stopped taking them, because I had such a bad view for pictures...it was great to know Cassie was there snapping away, and I could just enjoy the moment. Once again...thank you Cassie!

Random Street Fair

I am not even sure Random is even the right word... we headed out to find some Denver Food Trucks, and next to the trucks was a neighborhood street fair, complete with bouncy castles, face painting, food & a band, and the best part was everything was FREE!

come on papa pope & grandma linda!

While Sister was at dance class, Mady had four adults all to herself! She walked her grandparents at least four blocks around Cherry Creek. Keeping up with my Dad is no small task for many adults but Mady was the one setting the speedy pace! I can't believe she is not walking yet (on her own that is!) I know I should just enjoy this moment in time...because if I think she is busy now...just wait.

Vail: Day 4, 5, & 6

I left my camera with Scott in Vail, but all I got was a handful of cell phone pictures...while I (of course!) appreciated receiving these pictures. I thought I would at least have a couple pictures on my camera too, just sayin. Maybe next time?

Practicing for what comes next...
So impressed by my girl!

Vail: Day 1, 2 & 3

We had a week of our timeshare to use or lose by the end of July. We decided to exchange our week in Breckenridge for a week in Vail for a change. And since Annabelle was out of school, we thought we would start the summer season off right with a staycation!

We headed up the mountain on Saturday morning...somehow managing to pack up between dance class & two house showings, but that is a whole other Oprah! We headed up the mountain and arrive at our condo. Let me just say that for someone completely and utterly freaked out about water, picking a condo with Streamside in the name should have tipped me off to be a bad idea. Especially given that the mountains got a RIDICULOUS amount of snow this year, and this "stream" was literally raging class 5 rapids basically in our parking lot. I am seriously not even exaggerating...even though I know you all think that I am! Regardless of this
ridiculous situation, we managed to have a fabulous long weekend.

Donovan Park
Gondola Ride / Lionshead
Glenwood Hot Springs
Can you believe that I not only allowed Scott to take Mady down the waterslide,
but I suggested it?
I felt a little like I was cheating on Liks but I promised Annabelle an ice cream,
and Madelyn was already headed for a bath the moment we got back,
so Madelyn got to enjoy her first ice cream - in a cone!
Scott is staying in Vail, with the girls & Grandma Suzie for the rest of the week, we will see if I get any pictures to post...I guarantee there will be a story or two.
